The Sword of Shannara

The Sword of Shannara is the first book in the Shannara trilogy. This book is about Shea Ohmsford and one day he meets a mysterous man named Allanon. Allanon tells Shea that there is some evil force (the warlock king) that is going to destory him because he is the last heir of Shannara. Allanon sends him on a quest to find the sword that will destroy the warlock king. I read this book because it is turning into a series called the Shannara Chronicles. Which will air on January 5 at 8/9 Standard time on MTV. I liked this book. The writting was kinda tendious but, that is just Terry Brooks writing style so it didn't bother me so much. The beginning of the book, I loved. It was mysterous and adventurous. The halfway through the book the characters seperated and I was only interested in two of the stories. The main character Shea and his brother Flick. Then there was the epic battle and the ending which I loved. He might be back! My favorite character was the rock troll named Keltset which was mute. I am planning on reading the second book in the series right away! This book I rated a 3.5 out of 5 because It did have a similar plot like Lord of the Rings and also the group seprated which I didn't like.

Rescue Island (Flynn's Log ,1)

This book is about a boy named Flynn who doesn't remember who he is and how he came into the game (Minecraft) and his adventure on Rescue Island. I didn't like this book. First, it was too short, the characters weren't fleshed out and it wasn't well written. The thing that bothered me the most about this book was how they described the gameplay. I felt like the Stone Marshall was putting children down and he was asumming the reader knew nothing of mindcraft. As I was reading,I was hoping that Flynn's memory would come back slowly. It didn't. I was expecting this book to blow me away like Ready Player One by Ernest Cline. It didn't. I did like the character at the end of the novel, but I still don't understand her purpose and her character was more of a motherly guide. I am unsure if I am going to read the next novel in the series. This book also asked more questions then answers.

Magyk by Angie Sage

This is the first book in the Septimus Heap series. This book is about the seventh son of the seventh son named Septimus Heap and he is stolen and is pronouced dead. This book is filled with magic, mystery and hallarious characters. My favorite characters are Aunt Zelda, Boy 412, Pet Roc Trolony and Stanley the message rat. This book made me laugh out loud. The Characters were developed and each character had their own story. For example, DomDaniels apprentice was an ordanary boy and he wasn't what DomDaniel thought he was. There is also a murder and DomDaniel is after the princess Jenna. There are mythical creature like, ghost, Boggarts, talking rats, Pet Rocks that are alive, a dragon boat and many more. I also loved the badguy, Dom Daniel. He was so silly and reminded me on the bad guy of the Princess bride. This takes place in a wizard town, where wizards are protected. The magic system is interesting. The wizards will chant a spell and you have to train to become a wizard.  I highly recommend this book if you love fantasy or magic. I rated this a 4/5.

Beautiful Creatures

This Book is about Witches, That is not the right word. Ok Casters. This book is told from the point of view of a boy named Ethan, who dreams of traveling the world. Until one day he meets a girl named Lena and Ethans' whole world shatters. There is also secrets unfolded, a powerful Caster and Lena who has to figure out if she is a light or dark caster. I really liked this story. I loved the connection between Ethan and Lena. They could speak to each other with their mind. I also loved the song. I listened to the audiobook and it was an amazing audiobook because it had an origanal song and there were sound effects. I also loved the characters and them exploring there pasts and finding out deep, dark secrets. This was written as a journal by Ethan. I also loved how most of the characters loved books.

Daja's Book (Circle of Magic,3)

Daja's book is about the magical awakening of Daja. Daja is an outcast trader and one day while she is journeying to the Gold Ridge Mountains she creates a living metal vine. I thought this book was ok. I loved the mage characters. But the trader character weren't that interesting. For me this book was more about the trading culture and the trader language though me off. I started really liking it at the end of the novel. Daja can also make living metal. I thought that was interesting but, I was expecting more action and less crafting. I still will continue with the series and see if it is amazing!

Vanishing Acts by Jodi Picoult

This book is really really good. This book is about a woman named Delia Hopkins and one day while she is at home her father Andrew gets arrested for kidnapping. This book is told from different perspectives. We follow Delia, Andrew, Eric Delia's finance and Flitz who is a friend. My favorite character was Andrew and Eric. Both of these charaters are broken and have to fix themselves somhow. This book also reminded me of a lifetime or drama movie. There is also a theme to the book and that what is right or wrong. Each character has to make a decision. It might be right or it might be wrong. I also loved Picoults writing style. It was easy to read and understand. Overall I really liked this book and I recommend it to everyone.

Dark Storm by Christine Feehan

This is a supernatural romance. This book has vampires and Dragons. I didn't really like this book. The two main characters were just having sex over and over again. I didn't like the character Dax because he didn't understand humans. I did like the sceneray in the book and that the characters were in touch with there nature side. There was also an evil vampire but, he only had like two scenes in the novel. I don't recommend this book because it is to sexual and it is lacking plot.

A Gathering of Shadows by V.E. Schwab

This is the second book in A Darker Shade of Magic series. This is a fantasy novel that takes place in london. In this series there is different kinds of london. Gray london which is the london we all know with no magic. Red london which has magic. Black London which is chaos or evil magic and White london which has higher levels of magic This book starts off with Lila and how she meets pirates and shows off her ability as a thief. She meets the captain named Alistar, who is witty and charming. She learns magic while aboard the ship. This book also features a tornament of casters or magic users from different parts of the world and they show off there magic skills. There is also a new evil character that is from Black London. He is very dark and I enjoyed all the scenes with him in it. I didn't really like the tornament and It went on for a long time. I loved the impovement of character development in Rhy and his feeling towards his brother. I also loved the character Alistar. You didn't know if he was good or bad and he had a great sense of humor. Lila character also receved more development.  I loved that we visted the different Londons and learned more about Black London. The ending was a cliff hanger so I am excited to see where it goes. I am also excited about meeting new characters in the book. This book was a 4.5 out of 5 because the tournment was not that enjoyable to me.

Ren: The Man Behind the Monster

This is a story about a man named Ren who can control people and can read people minds. I loved the narrator of the audiobook. The novel was to short for my taste. I wanted to know more detail about the characters. for example, why did Ren hate his sister so much? I loved the love interest in the beginning of the book. She had powers too. I wanted to know more about her. I get that this was written as a autobiography, but I wanted more detail. Apparently this is part of a series and I did not know that going into it. I loved the humor in this story and I loved learning about Ren's life. This book get a 3.5 out of 5 stars. If I read it in written form I problem would give it a 3 out of 5.

The Lost Book Trailer

Hope you enjoy this Book Trailer

The Lost By Caridad Pineiro

This book is about Adam Bruno who is a shapeshifter and he is also a millionaire. He lives with his dad Salvatore who owns a company. One day Adam meets this gorgous women who's name is Bobbie. She is a soldier who fought in the war against Iraq. I didn't really like this book. The reason why is that there was to much sex in the book. I felt like Adam and Bobbie relationship was instant love. Adam fell in love with Bobbie beauty and Boobie fell in love with Adam because he was different and mysterious. I hate that cliche. I like the plot and was interested in the story. The war between the shadow hunters and light hunters. I wanted more of that. I also thought the characters were poorly written and I didn't really care if they died. Salvatore was the only character that was developed and he changed from a shady guy that didn't care about anyone to the most caring guy in the whole novel. This book got a 3 out of 5 because I could see the potential in the plot and it was a good idea.

Perfect Book Trailer

Perfect By Ellen Hopkins

This book is about people who want the perfect bodies or to be perfect. This book is told in four percpectives Cara, Kendra, Sean and Andre. Cara has overbareing parents and she has to deal with rape and becoming a lesbian. Kendra is a model who doesn't eat because she believes she is fat. Sean deals with a break up that leaves him crazy. Andre deal with race issues and a girlfriend who drinks all the time. WARNING: This book has underage drinking and drugs. The only story I could relate to was Andre's story. This book reminded me of the movie Requim of a dream. Which I hated so much. There were numberous time I wanted to throw the book or burn it. This book does have a good message. Don't do drugs because you will become crazy and accomplish goals you want to do. Don't do something for your freind, girlfriend  or parents. if you want to be an author, painter, singer, teacher or anything else. Just do it! The story i didn't like was Kendra because she was 100 pounds and she kept losing weight. This book was written in poatry. I rated this book 3/5 stars on goodreads because the story was important and the writing style was unque.

The Wrath and The Dawn by Renee Ahdieh

Genre: Romance Retelling

Format: Hardcover

Pages:388

Published May 12, 2015

One Life to One Dawn.

This is the story of a murderous boy-king and Shahrzad who desires to kill him. But she fails to do so. This is a retelling of the classic novel 1001 nights. Shahrzad falls in love with the boy-king and she is determined to kill him. She doesn't even try to kill him. This novel was boring up until the end. There was no character development to the main characters and the side characters are not fleshed out as well. The only character I liked was Despirna. Later in the novel close to the end Ahdieh tried to add magic. Where did this magic come from? Is there a magic system?  The story was not original and had a weak love triangle and had less short stories in it. It was weaker that the original which I enjoyed. I rated this book a 3 out of 5 stars. It had a good idea but the excution was weak.

Scarlett Book trailer

Scarlett By Marissa Meyer

Genre: Fairy tale retelling

Format: Ebook

Pages: 454

Published February 5, 2013

This book is a retelling of the Little Red Riding Hood. It also tells the contuned story of Cinder. Scarlett the main character is a pilot and she is looking for her grandma who was missing for two weeks. She meets a guy named Wolf and he seems to know where her grandma is. So they travel to find her grandma. Cinder is in prison and escape with a fellow convict who call himself Captain Thorne and together they escape in his spaceship. I really enjoyed this book! I loved Wolf and Captain Thorne. I loved Cinder and Thorne relationship. I loved thorne's sassyness and he reminded me of Johnmny Bravo. He didn't know Cinder was a princess. I didn't like scarlett that much. She was naive and trusted strangers too much. But I know it was needed in the story because red is naive too. Her character changed in the very end and she started to be negative to Cinder because Cinder wasn't standing up to the queen. That was strange. Other than that I loved this book. I loved wolf and the twist in the novel was great. Meyers writing was very good and it was easy to understand. I will read the next book in the series. I excited about it. I rated this book 4/5 stars on Goodreads.

The Poison Apples by Lily Archer

Genre: Contemporary

You are Invited to the first meeting of The Poison Apples To Be Held on the Roof of Middleton Dorm October 17th, Midnight Invitation Only

This story is about three girls named Alice Bingley- Beckerman, Reena Paruchuri and Molly Miller and they have one thing in common: Stepmothers. Evil Stepmothers. They arrive at Putnam Mount McKinsey a private school and meet. The form the club: The Poison Apples and plan to seek revenge on there stepmothers. I thought this book would focus on the revenge plot instead it focused on how each of the girls coped with school and friends. I didn't really like this book. The girls were not protrayed realistaly. For example Reena had a crush on one of the teachers and she dressed in a nightgown and visited the teacher in his room. WOW! I never did that as a kid. The only character I did like was Pradeep. He was really funny and more mature. I also picked this book up because I thought it was a fairy tale retelling. Boy was I wrong about that. I might have liked this book in elemenary school. I rated it a 3 out of 5 stars

Bewitching can be a beast...

This book is a story about this witch named Kendra and how she became a witch. This book has 3 fairy tales in it. Hansal and Gredil is first story. This story is told by Kendra. It takes places in england in 1666 where a plague hits england and Kendra and her brother excapes and they find a gingerbead house in the middle of nowhere and they meet a witch. This story is how Kendra becomes a witch and how she learns about her powers. The second story is the Main story Lisette and Emma which is divided into 3 parts. This is the story of Cinderella. This story is told by Emma, who is living with her step father and mother. Her father hears that his former wife died and she has sent her daughter (Lisette) to live with her father. Lisette is Cinderella. Emma is the ugly stepsister. This story was unquie because Lisette was mean and jealous and wanted to distroy Emma life. Emma was the Evil Stepsister and was a book nerd. Which was fun! The third story was The Princess and the pea. This was a fun story. It combined the fairy tale and history together. The last story was The Little Mermaid. This took place on the Titanic. It was my least favorite story and It was sad. I loved the writing of this book. They had quotes from different books. I also loved after each story or sections was the Kenda Speaks sections about what she learned from helping people. I rated this book a 5 out of 5.

This book is about the princes of fairy tales. The popular fairy tales we all love and know like, Cinderella, Snow White, Sleeping Beauty and Rapunzel. Cinderella's prince is Prince Freederic who is afraid of everything. It is very funny! Snow White's Prince is Prince Duncan. He is a  hippy and enjoys nature. He also believes he is good luck. He always get himself into trouble. He is my favorite prince. Brier Rose's Prince is Prince Liam. He is the only "Hero "of the story and he is full of himself. And Lastly is Rapunzel's Prince is Prince Gustav. He wants to be a hero, but he likes jumping into battle litterally. This story is about how all the Prince Charmings meet and they plan to save Cinderella from a witch. This book has a Dumb Giant, Trolls that are vegatarian, Dwarfs that are all Grumpy and sarcastic, bandits who follows a kid, and a dragon. My favorite part was the Trolls. They were hilarious. Every troll was named Troll. This book is perfect for young reader who don't like reading. It has funny parts, adventure, action and has a perfect villain who is a powerful witch. Rump: The true story of Rumpelstiltskin by Liesl Shurtliff

Genre: Fairy tale retelling

Format: Hardcover

Pages: 272 pages

Published April 9 2013

In a magical kingdom where your name is your destiny, twelve-year-old Rump is the butt of everyone's joke

This is the true story of Rumpelstiltskin. This is about a boy named Rump , who has half his name and his gift to turn straw into gold. He goes on a adventure to find the rest of his name and meets a troll, a greety king, witches and his destiny. This book has magic, curses, gifts, and annoying pixies. It also has a gnome who deliveries messages. This book also has poetry in it and it is funny. I liked the trolls because they were hiding from the humans because they didn't want to be slaves. I also loved the kitchen woman in the castle because she was hilarous and ran into Rump a lot. I liked how Shurtliff created the tale about the meaning of names. I also liked how the author keep the orignal tale and twisted it. Rump is the good guy instead of the bad guy. He has a best friend named Red (from little red riding hood). Red is super strong character. she is one tough cookie. The author also included Snow White's poison apples too. Rump also gets made fun of a lot. This book is great for middle schoolers and people who love fairy tales. I rated this book a 5 out of 5.

The first line of the book is "I'm pretty much fucked." This book also has science. Weir caluclated an orbit just for this book. AMAZING! i didn't like the NASA parts in the beginning but I grew to like those characters more and more. If you like science fiction and survival stories you will love this book.
